Response from Lauren to some questions asked at the meeting. -
Good afternoon-
Thanks again for the invite! As a following up to our meeting last night, please find the answers to the questions below:
What happens to the lithium in our batteries at the true end of life?
We can help the customer with recycling their battery pack at the true end of life. Instead of sending batteries to a hazardous waste incinerator, Proterra works with top-tier recycling companies that specialize in extracting and repurposing materials inside lithium-ion automotive batteries, recovering 99% of precious metals used in Proterra batteries.
Does the V2G capability require an inverter on the vehicle?
No. There is an inverter built into our chargers’ Power Control Systems, and our fast DC charging systems mean that you don’t need to have an additional inverter on the bus (like you would with AC charging systems).

I was mistaken. The report that was done for Houston METRO was completed by the Environmental Defense Fund. I am trying to get my hands on a copy.
Thanks! Lauren
